Inserted in the demarcated area of Serra da Estrela Cheese Production, our devoted farmer produces a variety of exquisite artisan cheeses including; curried sheep cheese, cottage cheese, goat cheese and mix cheese.

Come and discover the fascinating processes used to produce the cheeses, using a Cynara Cardunculus plant, commonly known as "cardo" - a traditional recipe used to make Serra da Estrela Cheese. The plant coagulant results from grinding the plant with sea salt. Mixed with raw milk, it contains the microorganisms that are necessary for the fermentation of the cheese. You can learn this intricate process first hand against the panoramic setting of the highest mountain range in Portugal with our cheese making masterclass.
