Our guide was excellent-knowledgeable, professional, and easily enjoyable. The fruits from the marketplace were delicious and it was fun tasting fruits we had not even heard of in some cases. Lunch was also great from watching the chefs prepare and cook the meal, learning about all the foods of Madeira to tasting their phenomenal creations. Money well spent!

It was a very interesting tour of the market. We learned a lot about Madeira, black scabbardfish, and fruits. The most inspiring part was the showcooking with Mauricio Fario. A chef with passion, humor, and great dishes. A wonderful experience!

This was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Funchal. The visit to Mercado dos Lavradores was vibrant and full of life, and tasting the exotic fruits was a unique experience on its own. The cooking demonstration was engaging and informative, and the meal at the end was absolutely delicious. Everything felt authentic, relaxed, and very well organized. If you want to truly understand Madeiran food and culture, this is a must-do experience.
