Olive Oil Farm Experience

50,00 €

We'll arrive at the olive oil farm and we will introduce you to the farmer. He will tell you the story of the farm. After the presentation, we will walk through the farm to see the olives trees and all the equipment and special techniques for harvesting. This is a true experience, so you will pick your olives (if they are in season). The farmer will teach you how to taste olive oil, and explain what makes good olive oil —and what makes the bad stuff, too. During the lunch on the farm, you will see and taste the olive oil, how to do it and taste all the products of Alentejo region.

You will end this day with a wealth of knowledge about production techniques, history, and the freshness, intensity, and variety that high-quality olive oil can offer.

If you wish to propose another day or time for the experience, send us a message to geral@camponio.com and we will do our best to reschedule, or we can include one more experience for all day.

Our Producer
At 17 km from Évora,a  high qualily olive oil is born, a family project the combines the passion for the land with the dream of producing a high quality olive oil, extracted in cold, from Galician olive trees of dry land, with 62 years.

Farm History
Visit and discover the history of the farm, learn about the Galician olive tree (native from Portugal) and sample extra virgin olive oil 100% Galician, appreciating its qualities in the shadow of a millenary "zambujeiro". The local tasting of olive oil, next to the producer, is the best way to know how it is done.

The Olive
The olives are picked up manually, placed in 20kg boxes and processed on the same day, in order to discuss all the properties of olive oil.
