Quick Details
Enjoy a Bread Making Experience in a Farm close to Lisbon
From six primary systems—household, vegetable garden, olive grove, orchard, fields, and scrublands—it offers a range of products emblematic of the “Ribatejo neighborhood” landscape: olive oil, honey, figs, aromatic herbs, seasonal vegetables, legumes like beans, chickpeas, grass peas, blackberries, and various fruits.
Here, in traditional olive groves, one of the few bio-certified extra-virgin olive oils from Ribatejo is produced. Honey from the hive. Dried figs. But also chickpeas and lentils, melons and pumpkins, green beans and cabbage. Oregano, quinces, and wild blackberries are picked. Chickens and rabbits are raised, donkeys and horses are used for rides and to fertilize the fields. Pestos, jams, chutneys, pies, and various other processed products are made so that none of the garden’s produce goes to waste. Good bread is baked in an olive wood-fired oven.
Visit a traditional farm, learn how to make bread, and in the end, indulge with a bread tasting.
