Peneda-Gerês Farm to Table

Have a great experience, from the farm to the table in Peneda Gerês National Park!

Learn about regenerative farming and ecologic principles visiting our ecofarm. Our organic certified farm is located on the fringes of the Peneda Gerês National Park (World Biosphere Reserve), one hour ride from Porto, in Arcos de Valdevez. We produce chestnut, varied fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and aromatic herbs, following agroecology practices. We have chickens, rabbits, ducks, one cat and one dog.

After a guided tour around the farm, lunch will be waiting for us at the farm’s courtyard patio. Organic and/or local farm-to-table ingredients, cooked by Elisabete, farm’s chef, everything accompanied by good Portuguese wine. We promise you will leave inspired, having met people passionate about organic food, sustainable farming and healthy eating.

What is included:

• Arrival to the farm and welcome by the farmer
• Private guided tour around the farm
• Delicious organic and /or local farm-to table lunch prepared and served at the farm
• Local green wine tasting
• Lunch -Superior menu:

  • Starters: Cured olives, Portuguese goat/sheep cheese, corn bread migas with black-eyed peas and cabbage, paired with our incredible local green wine (Minho region, Ponte da Barca)

  • Soup: Pea puree soup with mint

  • Main course: Main course: Rabbit «à caçador» (hunter’s recipe) with carqueja (plant that grows in the mountains) rice and sautéed cabbage

  • Dessert: Apple and Cinnamon gluten free cake

  • Drinks: Local green wine or Red wine (Alentejo region), water, homemade cold chamomile herbal tea with lemon, coffee

What is not included:

• Transportation to the farm
