Highlights

Cover more ground than on foot. The 4×4 lets you venture deeper into the cork forest and across more of the 540-hectare estate than a walking tour allows.

Five generations of the same family. This estate has been owned and worked by the same Anglo-Portuguese family for over five generations — a genuine, living connection to the land.

A diversified working farm. Beyond cork, the estate produces wine, pork and honey — a rare look at how a single piece of land supports multiple traditions.

A rewarding finish. The tour ends with a 360° panoramic viewpoint over the farm and the Serra D’Ossa — a memorable, photo-worthy close to the ride.

Classic Land Rover cork forest tour
It's a nice relaxing tour John Obrecht

My father and I joined this very unique and wonderful tour on our recent sightseeing trip to Portugal. We drove the 1.5 hours from Lisbon down to Redondo to meet up with Joana and team where we got into their Land Rover for a nice tour of their cork tree farm. The tour shows the trees at various stages of their growth and gives an overview of how the process is done. Unfortunately the cork is only harvested during a very narrow window in the early summer, but regardless we learned a lot from the experience. The terrain is also very beautiful and serene. It's a nice relaxing tour to take if you're in the area.

Off-road 4×4 exploration of cork forest in Portugal
We had a great time! Silvia Bic

We had a great time exploring the cork forest on a 1974 Landover with Jose', who was very knowleadgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot about the region and the farm, we heard about the past traditions and about what is being implemented to adapt the farm businesses to the challenges posed by climate change. Five very athletic dogs accompanied us along the way, wich made the whole experience even more fun. We'll be back. Silvia&Silvia
