Simply a fantastic experience David Belyea

This was such a unique experience for us! We were greeted at the tasting room by Ricardo and were in his care for the entire tour. He is a wonderful host and guide-very knowledgeable about the area, the process of cork harvesting ( and how sustainably they do it), the estate-you name it! He also has a wonderful sense of humor and is very patient. After an hour or two touring the estate and learning about its history and cork harvesting, we went back for the wine tasting, which was excellent. We come from a wine region in the States and were very impressed with the quality, to say nothing of of the price. If we were staying longer we would have bought more! Our last stop was lunch at a local restaurant which was the final hurrah. It was definitely frequented by locals as opposed to tourists and the food was incredibly good. Bravo for choosing this for us! In all, I can't think of a better way to spend a few hours and will recommend the tour to our friends.

Portugal cork farm tour
Great experience! Kathy Brown

This is the tour I was excited about as we prepared for our time in Portugal, learning all about cork. We walked through a cork forrest, learned how the trees grow and produce cork, the critters that support growth, and the importance of business diversification. Our guide was patient with us as we asked lots of questions! It was a great experience that ended with a platter of ham and cheese and very tasty wines produced by the owner of the cork farm.

Classic Land Rover cork forest tour
It's a nice relaxing tour John Obrecht

My father and I joined this very unique and wonderful tour on our recent sightseeing trip to Portugal. We drove the 1.5 hours from Lisbon down to Redondo to meet up with Joana and team where we got into their Land Rover for a nice tour of their cork tree farm. The tour shows the trees at various stages of their growth and gives an overview of how the process is done. Unfortunately the cork is only harvested during a very narrow window in the early summer, but regardless we learned a lot from the experience. The terrain is also very beautiful and serene. It's a nice relaxing tour to take if you're in the area.

Off-road 4×4 exploration of cork forest in Portugal
We had a great time! Silvia Bic

We had a great time exploring the cork forest on a 1974 Landover with Jose', who was very knowleadgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot about the region and the farm, we heard about the past traditions and about what is being implemented to adapt the farm businesses to the challenges posed by climate change. Five very athletic dogs accompanied us along the way, wich made the whole experience even more fun. We'll be back. Silvia&Silvia
