About the Cork Trekking Experience in Alentejo
Walk through an authentic cork oak forest on a guided trekking experience in Redondo, Alentejo, at the foothills of Serra D’Ossa. This is a rare chance to explore a 540-hectare family estate (owned by an Anglo-Portuguese family for over five generations) and learn how cork forestry and rural life shape this region.
You’ll hike peaceful farm trails, discover local fauna and flora, and stop at scenic viewpoints for panoramic countryside views. Along the way, your guide explains cork’s heritage and how cork oak forests are managed sustainably.
To finish the experience in true Alentejo style, you’ll visit a winery for a wine tasting with Iberian black pork and cheese, followed by a 3-course lunch in a typical local restaurant (drinks included).
