Quick Details
This is the Casal do Vale experience for food lovers. While the other tastings at this estate focus on the wines, this 2-hour tour builds a full regional table around each glass — artisan cheese, traditional bread with chouriço, broa, simple bread, and pastéis de feijão, matched to 4 estate wines and guided by Rosa throughout. The result is less a formal tasting and more a genuine Portuguese table: the kind of spread that reflects how people in Torres Vedras actually eat alongside their wine. Rosa explains each wine, each pairing, and why the food of this region was built to work with these grapes.

Taste 4 Casal do Vale wines with a full regional spread
Forty-five minutes from Lisbon, in the hills of Torres Vedras, this 2-hour experience is the most food-forward version of the Casal do Vale wine tour. Four estate wines are presented by Rosa — white, rosé, and reds from grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Castelão, Syrah, and Fernão Pires — alongside a generous table of traditional Portuguese regional products: artisan cheese, bread with chouriço, broa, cornbread, and pastéis de feijão. The pairing is not decorative. Each food element is chosen to complement a specific wine, and Rosa explains the logic behind every combination. Alexie Morin called Rosa “passionate” with “wines and environment that are delightful.” Hey Yulia described it as “a wine and food experience” she “enjoyed every minute of.”

Highlights
A Real Portuguese Table — Not Just a Cheese Board Most wine tastings near Lisbon add a few slices of cheese and call it a pairing. This experience builds a full traditional Portuguese spread: artisan cheese, bread with chouriço, broa, cornbread, and pastéis de feijão — foods that have been made in this region for centuries and that are designed to work alongside the wines produced here. Hey Yulia described it as “a wine and food experience” she “enjoyed every minute of.” It is the difference between a tasting and a Portuguese culinary experience.
Four Wines, Two Hours, and Rosa’s Full Attention With 2 hours and 4 wines, this is a more unhurried tasting than the 1.5-hour formats. Rosa has time to go deeper with each glass — explaining the terroir, the grape varieties, the vintage decisions — while the food on the table encourages guests to linger, eat, and understand how wine and regional food interact in Portuguese culture. Alexie Morin said Rosa “takes the time to explain with passion.” Lawrence called the tasting “one of our favourites.”
The Most Complete Introduction to Torres Vedras Wine Culture The food of Torres Vedras — chouriço, broa, pastéis de feijão — is as much a part of the region’s identity as the wine. By pairing them together with Rosa’s explanations, this experience gives visitors a more complete picture of Portuguese rural culture than any wine-only tasting can deliver. You leave understanding not just what the wines taste like but how they fit into the life of the people who make them.
Casal do Vale — A Serious Estate With Premium Varieties The 4 wines in this tasting come from 180 hectares of Atlantic-influenced vineyard planted with Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Castelão, Aragonés, Syrah, Fernão Pires, and Moscatel. Lawrence noted the rosé and red were “particularly good.” Andrea C. Marengo took three bottles home. These are estate wines with real character — and the food pairing gives each one the context it deserves.
Ideal for Groups of 4 to 20 — The Best Casal do Vale Option for Shared Tables With a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 guests, this tour is designed for groups — friends, families, corporate teams, or anyone who wants to share a Portuguese table together. The food format is naturally social, and Rosa’s warmth as a host makes every group feel welcome from the first glass. If you are visiting Torres Vedras with a group and want the most convivial experience at the estate, this is the one.
