We offer very unique tours on our farm in the Serra do Caldeirão, one being walking with goats and a goat herder in the Algarve mountainside and a local cheese, wine and honey tasting.
Here you can discover what you could call the ‘real Portugal’.
The beauty of the countryside is immense with wildflowers and spectacular views and you can still find shepherds herding their sheep (and goats) and subsistence farmers working hard on their land to grow the food they need.
What is included:
- Welcome to the farm;
- Guided visit to the farm;
- Nature walk that takes us to the goat herder;
- Nature walk with the goats and the herder through the hills;
- Wine, cheese and honey tasting in the farm.

This experience was really the highlight of our week. Thanks to Virginia and Josh's initiative, we got a chance to discover traditions passed over 5 generations with their lovely neighbors. But Virginia's way of sharing interesting facts and details about the beautiful lands we walked around, really got us amazed. Everything was lovely until the end with a really beautiful picnic next to their house, to taste some sample of home-made or local products. Their family is really caring and want to share this culture with people. We highly recommend it.
This experience was such a treat! Virginia has created a beautiful and relaxed experience that allows you to sample the Algarve countryside. We started our walk picking fresh sage and lavender then got to enjoy a freshly picked Orange for a refreshing snack as we strolled through the hills to the goats. I filled my phone storage with photos and videos of the goats as we made our way back to the fresh bread and home sourced honey, olives and more.
Fantastic experience. It was wonderful to meet Virginia and Josh and their lovely family. It is such a beautiful place, a magical and humbling experience to go for a walk with the goats. We learned a lot about the plants and fruits that are grown there and local area and way of living. Highly recommended!
